Removing Team Members

Learn how to remove members and what happens to their work.

What Happens

When you remove a team member, several things happen automatically.

Warning
Removing a member is immediate and they will lose access right away. Make sure to reassign important work first.
  • Access revoked - Member immediately loses access to all workspace boards
  • Cards preserved - Their cards and comments remain but show as "Former Member"
  • Assignments cleared - They are unassigned from all cards automatically

How to Remove

Only admins can remove team members.

Go to Members

Open workspace settings and select Members.

Find the member

Search or scroll to find the person you want to remove.

Click Remove

Click the menu and select Remove from workspace.

Confirm

Confirm the removal when prompted.

Before Removing

Take these steps before removing someone.

Checklist

  • Reassign their cards to other team members
  • Check for any urgent due dates on their tasks
  • Review any boards they own that need new owners
  • Export any important comments or information

Tip
You can always re-invite someone later if they need to rejoin the workspace.
